Louis Johnson, Sr Obituary

The late Louis Johnson Sr. was born April 4, 1956. He returned to our Heavenly Father Monday, May 1, 2023. He was the Beloved son of Orlando and Rebecca Johnson.  He was born a twin to a family of 7, (5 boys 2 girls).

Louis was baptized in 1968 at the 48th St. Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church along with 5 of his siblings. He proudly joined the Male Chorus. He loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Louis attended Philadelphia Public Schools until 1974, his biggest accomplishment was when he joined the United State Marines Corps as a rifleman. Louis then was honorably discharged in 1978. He also worked for the family business, Orlando Johnson and Sons Janitorial Services. Where he worked hard to maintain a great reputation, helping to keep the family business and legacy afloat, to make his father proud.

In 1978 he was employed with the United Postal Service. From 1978 through 2011 he worked as a Maintenance Assistant and later as a Maintenance Mechanic retiring with 35 years of service.

He has always been an Independent man and worked for what he wanted. Louis was also a proud member of the Christ United Gospel Singers in which they ministered thru song at numerous Churches and Nursing Homes. He was an inactive member of a masonic lodge but still considered a brother.

Having such a big heart and honoring his parents, he was there to take care of them while they were aging.

Louis was charming, smooth and a classic “what you see is what you get” kind of man. Louis enjoyed cooking and grilling for and with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool, boxing, music and was a fanatic of Sci-fi and action movies. He also enjoyed telling jokes and playing pranks on his children and making up songs and stories that we will always remember. He also was a self-proclaimed “Mr. fix it “. After having his right leg amputated he was able to live up to his CB radio  name ‘Left Foot’ which is something he enjoyed doing with his father and brothers. Even though Louis was physically challenged that did not stop him from traveling to the Philippines where he fell in love and was in his words “Treated like a King” and lived his best life.

Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his five children; Kyle Thrower (Natearia), Aisha Franks, Nicole Johnson, Tyree Louis  Johnson Jr(Kelli), Kenya Price Johnson and Cassandra Johnson, Wife; Stacey Price Johnson;14  grandchildren; Ahonesti Fonville, Nakaija Franks, Isis Johnson,Cyrus Tyree Johnson, Roman Louis Johnson, , Zaire Johnson, Ciara Lee, Kemoya Bryan, Kyle Thrower Jr. Nakayla Thrower, Journey Roxbury, 1 sister in-law Tammy Johnson, 2 sisters his twin Louise Nichols, Sharon Johnson-Owens (Anthony Owens), 2 brothers Francisco Johnson (Betsey) and Robert  Johnson (Ruth) and also Very Special friend, Morta Laganson Yolly (Yolanda) of the Philippines.
