Delsie (Dilcie) Farley, a beloved mother, sister, partner, grandmother, aunt, and friend took her eternal rest April 21st, 2025.
Dilcie was born on March 5, 1957, in Macon, GA, and she relocated to Philadelphia with her parents in that same year. Dilcie has been residing in Clemington, NJ for the past 19 years. Dilcie spent her school years in Philadelphia and graduated from John Bartram High School. She worked in the banking and medical billing fields throughout her career.
Dilcie was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Franklin Farley and Ella Mae Farley. She grew up in a loving family as one of five children. She is predeceased by her brother Tracey Farley and sister Zelda Farley, and is survived by her sister Brenda Studevan (Walter) Philadelphia, PA and brother Ricky Farley, Philadelphia, PA. Her family was always close-knit, and she carried the values of love and togetherness throughout her life.
For the past 40 years, Dilcie shared her life with her soulmate, Larry Johnson. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and companionship. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and mutual respect.
Dilcie was a devoted mother to her two sons, Demond Farley Sr. (Kristi), Covington, GA and Andrew Farley (Dena), North Plainfield, NJ. Dilcie's love for her sons was boundless, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and the men they have become.
Dilcie was also a loving grandmother to her three grandchildren: Demond Farley, Jr., Deonna Farley, and Makayla Farley, Bethlehem, PA. Her grandchildren brought her pure joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories and sharing her wisdom and love.
In addition to being a devoted mother and grandmother, Dilcie had host of nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom were loved and adored. She had a special bond with each of them, offering guidance, support, and love throughout their lives.
Dilcie was a devoted member of the Union Tabernacle Baptist Church, Philadelphia PA where she sung in the choir and was a part of the young adults usher board.
Dilcie's life was marked by her generosity, kindness, and unwavering spirit. She had a passion for helping others and was always ready to lend a hand or offer a comforting word. Her home was a place of warmth and hospitality, where friends and family were always welcome.
She enjoyed spending time out in the backyard, whether it was gardening, sitting in the sun, or simply appreciating the beauty of the world around her. She loved entertaining her family and friends and having cookouts in the backyard. Dilcie also had a creative side, often expressing herself through her drawing, which brought joy to her and those around her. One of Dilcie’s favorite passions was shopping, especially on QVC. She always found a great deal and was generous with her purchases to all her loved ones.
Dilcie's legacy is one of love, compassion, protectiveness and resilience. She touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit and will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Dilcie Farley will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May she rest in peace.
