Connie’s Life Story
Connie Arnetta (Thomas) Green was born on September 18, 1957, in Niagara Falls, New York, to the late James and Beulah Rose Thomas. She was raised in Buffalo, New York, where she began the journey that would lead her to a life of service and compassion for others.
Connie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Wagner College on Staten Island. She proudly served her country as a nursing officer in the United States Navy, stationed at the Naval Base in Philadelphia. After completing her service, she made the Philadelphia area her home and continued her career as a psychiatric nurse, caring for and encouraging countless individuals throughout her years of service.
Connie was known for her joyful spirit, infectious laughter, and deep love of music. Blessed with perfect pitch, she loved to sing, dance, and celebrate life with family and friends.
She met the love of her life, Carroll “Butch” Green, during a chance meeting outside the hospital one evening. They married in April 1999 and shared a loving and devoted life together.
As Connie exhaled her last earthly breath, she inhaled her first of many with Jesus. She is meeting her parents there, along with brothers Alvin Thomas and Terry Thomas.
Connie leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Carroll “Butch” Green; her sister, Janice Hale-Harris; nephew Kenan Hale; niece Kori Hale; bonus daughters Nina Coley and Charlene Coley; stepchildren Tanisha Brant and Justin Green; two great-nieces; along with a host of loving family and friends.
