Rhonda “Nuny” Nance was born on December 30, 1967, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Belinda Nance and Emory Jefferson. From an early age, Rhonda’s vibrant spirit and determination were evident. She attended Henry Charles Lea Elementary School before continuing her education at Bartram Human Services.Driven by a heart of service and a deep sense of duty, Rhonda proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, where she faithfully served her country for seven years. She was honorably discharged in 1992, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, courage, and perseverance that would continue to define her throughout her life.
A woman of unwavering faith, Rhonda was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church, where she publicly declared her love for God. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life’s journey, giving her strength through every triumphand challenge Above all else, she cherished being a mother. She continued to share her love and knowledge by creating her family and leaves behind three devoted children: Dominic B. Nance, Devan B.Nance-Gore, and Carron L. Ringgold (Nance), all of whom were the pride and joy of her life.
To know Rhonda was to love her. She was the kind of woman who would give you her last if it meant you would be okay. Her generosity knew no limits, and her heart was always open to those in need. She was hilariously funny, adventurous, resilient, determined, strong-willed,God-fearing, and deeply family-oriented. Her laughter could brighten any room, her smile was infectious, and her resilience inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her. She lived with courage, loved without condition, and made everyone she encountered feel like family.Rhonda’s greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish herprecious memory her eight beloved grandchildren: Ijalae Nance, Ahmyra Nance, Alie Nance,Aubrey Nance, Richard Ringgold II, Reign Ringgold, Royal Ringgold, and Amari Jae Nance. Each of them held a special place in her heart and brought immeasurable happiness and love toher life. She is also lovingly remembered by her younger siblings, Rodney Nance, Renita Nance, andShawn Herring. Her love, laughter, wisdom, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.Her legacy is not only found in the life she lived, but in the love she gave so freely. While she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will continue to guide us, her memories will continue to comfort us, and her love will FOREVER remain with us always.
