Deborah
Marshall
Nov 12, 1952 — Jun 27, 2026
Deborah Louise Marshall peacefully departed this life on June 27, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with breast and liver cancer.
Born on November 12, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Debbie was the youngest daughter of the late Elsie and Charles Pratt. She was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and proudly graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1970.
Debbie built a successful career in the insurance industry, working for Reliance and later Blue Cross Blue Shield. After retiring, she continued to give her time and talents to others—working part‑time at Primark Department Store and volunteering at Add B. Anderson Elementary School and the Ronald McDonald House, where she joyfully read stories and engaged in activities with children.
Fun‑loving, strong‑willed, and deeply caring, Debbie cherished every moment spent with family and friends. She especially treasured her interactions with her son and grandchildren in Pittsburgh and the time shared with her nieces and nephews locally. Her presence brought warmth, laughter, and love wherever she went.
In 2002, Debbie began her long fight with cancer, bravely overcoming numerous recurrences over the years. She will forever be remembered for her remarkable fighting spirit, her generous heart, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Debbie leaves to cherish her memory her son, Durrell Marshall (Jennifer); grandchildren Madison and Alex; brother Charles Floyd Pratt; nephew Kenneth Pratt; nieces Tanisha Pratt and Tamyra Pratt; great‑nephew Tre’Quan; and great‑nieces Acey, Samyah, Icey‑Sparks, Wynter-Skye, Janyah, and Maliyah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Charles Pratt; her sister Charlene; niece Dawn; nephew Charles (Chuckie); and great‑nephews Tyhir and Jahsir.
Debbie’s strength, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
